
Each year students from all the universities in Perth take part in plus trip as a way of travelling together to the National Training Event in Canberra.
NTE has up to 3 components.
1. Mission with a local church (26-30 Nov)
We spend 5 days working with a church in Perth. We help them out in their mission, and get to have a go at doing real, live ministry ourselves. . It is possible to do Mission only (no cost)
2. AFES National Training Event (6-10 December)
This is a 5 day conference for students from Christian Unions all over Australia. There’s great talks, great music, great Bible training, and great opportunities to grow in our knowledge and love of Jesus. You can check it out at nte.org.au
3. Plus Trip (3 – 15 December)
We’ll be flying over and back together, this package includes time before NTE in Canberra, and after NTEin Sydney and the Blue Mountains
Note that joining for NTE also requires registration at nte.org.au. We recommend dormitory accomodation.
Options
1. Mission only If you can’t afford the time and money of NTE, you can still join a mission team. Check with staff members on your campus about details. Cost $0
2. NTE Plus Trip (3-15 Dec)
This includes mission before NTE, then fly with us to NTE, time in Canberra before NTE, and in Sydney & the Blue Mountains after NTE, and then return to Perth.
Cost: $1300 – includes flights, bus travel, non-NTE accommodation and all ‘together meals’, but not tourist costs (and you will need some money to pay for your own meals). You will need to pay a minimum of $300 non-refundable deposit to secure your spot (limited places).
Note: You will also need to register and pay for NTE ($360 for Dormitory accommodation with distance and early bird discount) nte.org.au
3. Make your own way to NTE: You are welcome to arrange your own travel to Canberra for NTE. Just join a mission team and book all your own flights.
